Wishbone Ash will be performing at The Platform in Morecambe on May 6

CLASSIC 70s rock band, Wishbone Ash, will return to The Platform in Morecambe on Thursday May 6.

Wishbone Ash were one of the new breed of progressive rock bands that developed in the late 60s and early 70s and enjoy a unique place in popular music history.

They pioneered the use of twin lead guitars, a style since adopted by many other bands of the time including Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden, and gained worldwide recognition based on a regime of relentless touring.

Power and melody have made Wishbone Ash a hard act to follow and they are currently being discovered by a new generation of rock fans.

An exceptional recording and touring career has seen Wishbone Ash weather many changes in record labels, personnel and musical trends, but they have most of their vast catalogue intact on CD, an award winning web site and a date sheet the envy of many other bands.

Last year the band celebrated 40 years of making music by embarking on a world tour to promote their anniversary DVD, 'Live in London'. Having just recorded their first single for over 20 years, 'Reason to Believe', will be released in the UK on May 17 2010.

Over the years, numerous musicians have appeared in band's ranks, contributing their talents. The current line up of Andy Powell and Muddy Manninen on guitars, Joe Crabtree on drums and Bob Skeat on bass will perform an hour and a half of classic Wishbone Ash songs along with new material.

Tickets for this superb evening of rock music cost £15 from the box office on 01524 582803. The show will start at 8pm.
