Still time to comment on air quality in Carnforth

There is still time for members of the public to comment on Lancaster City Council's draft Air Quality Action Plan for Carnforth.

This follows the declaration of an Air Quality Management Area in the centre of Carnforth which was made after the council monitored air pollution levels in the town to deal with high levels of nitrogen dioxide caused by exhaust emissions from road traffic.

Copies of the draft Air Quality Action Plan are available for viewing on www.lancaster.gov.uk/airquality and also at Carnforth Library and Morecambe and Lancaster Town Halls.

The draft Action Plan contains a shortlist of actions that the council believes will improve the air quality in Carnforth. Questions that are of particular interest to the council are also available on the website or can be sent on request.

The consultation closes on 31 August. Any comments should be sent by email to airquality@lancaster.gov.uk or by post to Head of Health and Strategic Housing, Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Morecambe, LA4 5AF.
