THE Donnie Munro Band will perform at The Platform in Morecambe on Saturday February 27.
Donnie Munro is well established as one of Scotland's finest singer/songwriters with his haunting and emotion filled lyrics and his memorable performance style always creating a strong bond with his audience.
This concert is part of a series of very special live shows following on from the release of his highly acclaimed CD 'Heart of America'. This album, his third studio album since his departure from Runrig after 20 years as lead singer, was the winner of the 'Album of the Year' award at the Scots Traditional Music Awards and was the singer's first major award as a solo artiste and writer.
Donnie Munro has brought together some of the most eminent of musicians in the country to make up his band, along with some special guest appearances. Donnie's evocative vocals, together with the talents of these players, cannot fail to please his fans, both old and new. Donnie will be performing a potent mixture of songs from his own impressive catalogue along with favourites from the Runrig years, traditional songs and more recent collaborations.
Support band for this concert will be The Simple Touch, a five piece Celtic folk/rock band from Scotland. The band has recently released their self titled debut album which has received great reviews from both fans and media alike.
