Advice for motorists using city council car parks

LANCASTER City Council is advising motorists to take extra care when using its public car parks.

In common with the rest of the district, the council’s car parks have been affected by the recent severe weather conditions.

The situation has been compounded by vehicles compacting the snow and creating sheet ice.

Of particular concern are the car parks at Morecambe Library, Pedder Street and the Festival Market in Morecambe and Cable Street, Spring Garden Street and Wood Street in Lancaster.

While no accidents have been reported, motorists are advised to take extra care and to not take any unnecessary risks.
