'Best dressed' housing scheme to host open day
Ripley Court, the winning entry in the Best Dressed Scheme competition
RIPLEY Court, a Lancaster City Council sheltered housing scheme, was the winner of the annual ‘Best Dressed Christmas Scheme’ 2009.
As a reward for their efforts all the residents were treated to a prize of a pie and peas supper.
Ripley Court has also just celebrated its 25th birthday and there are a few residents still living at Ripley Court who moved in when the scheme first opened in November 1984.
They were presented with a cake at a party to celebrate 25 years, which included entertainment provided by local favourite, Frank MacGregor.
To give people an idea of what it is like to live in sheltered housing within a friendly community with people over 60 years of age, Ripley Court is hosting an open day on Thursday February 4 between 10am and 2pm.
Staff will be on hand to answer any questions, show you around the scheme and any properties that are currently available for let, to give you an idea of what types of property you may be offered.
