Tourism brochures set to tempt visitors to the district

Front cover of the 2010 accommodation guide
THE new Lancaster, Morecambe and the Lune Valley Accommodation Guide for 2010 was officially unveiled at The Craigwell Hotel in Morecambe.
Designed to encourage people to choose to visit our area in 2010, the front cover features Morecambe Bay.
Copies can be picked up from the visitor information centres in Lancaster and Morecambe if local residents want to send them on to friends and relatives who may want to visit this area during the year.
The brochures will also be distributed to every tourist information centre across England.
The main accommodation guide also highlights some of the festivals and events and places to visit and will be supplemented by a new pocket sized visitor guide which will be launched on March 19.
This will bring together a variety of previous publications into one and will contain details of festivals, events, attractions and have maps of the different parts of this area.
In addition to the two publications, this year’s publicity programme will have a Group Travel Guide and a re-designed tourism website.
Coun Evelyn Archer, Cabinet member with responsibility for tourism, commented: “The Lancaster, Morecambe and Lune Valley accommodation guide is a hugely important tool in marketing the area to people outside of the district and indeed outside of the country.
“Literally thousands of visitors are expected to come to the area as a result of picking up this guide in tourist information centres throughout the country and on the website."
