It's time to reveal your unsung sporting heroes
Lancaster City Council is urging people to nominate their unsung sporting heroes for this year’s Lancaster Sports Awards.
Nominations are now being accepted for the awards in a number of categories including:
- Coach of the Year
- Community Club of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year (16-24)
- Rising Star
- Special Recognition Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Stuart Glover, Leisure Development Manager at the city council, said: “These awards provide an ideal opportunity for us to recognise the efforts of volunteers and coaches.
“Without their hard work and dedication many sports clubs would not exist and these awards provide a way of showcasing the hard work which is done across our district.”
To nominate a club, coach, volunteer of individual please visit www.lancaster.gov.uk/sportsawards and follow the links through to the online nomination forms. The deadline for completed nomination forms is July 31.
The winner in each category will be put forward to represent the district for the Lancashire Sports Awards, which will be announced at an awards evening on November 26.
