Mobile Shopmobility service in Lancaster and Morecambe

The Mobile Shopmobility service operating in Lancaster and Morecambe is currently unavailable to those requiring the use of mobility equipment to access the town centres.

The operator, Preston Community Transport has contacted the council this week informing officers that the service they provide in Morecambe on Thursdays and Lancaster on Fridays will cease with immediate effect because it no longer has the operators licence required to use its vehicle.

Preston Community Transport apologise for any inconvenience caused. The loss of the licence gave the operator little opportunity to plan an alternative option for provision at short notice.

Lancaster City Council is liaising with the operator as a matter of urgency to try and resolve the situation.
