Open House at Sheltered Housing
LANCASTER City Council is inviting residents to get an insight into the benefits of living in sheltered accommodation. The council has arranged open days at two of its schemes in the district
Thursday, March 18 – Glebe Court, East Road, Lancaster – 10am – 2pm
Thursday, March 25 – Kingsway Court, Kingsway, Heysham – 10am – 2pm
Council staff will be on hand to welcome visitors, show them around, answer questions and help complete application forms. Family members and friends are also welcome to come along.
Bryony Bolton, Housing Needs Manager for Lancaster City Council said:
“We get regular enquiries from people wanting to know more about sheltered housing such as, how much it costs, the room sizes and what is it like. Although we can answer these questions, the best way for people to find out more is to come and have a look around at the accommodation, talk to staff and see the excellent facilities on offer.
“We also receive a lot of enquiries from people living outside the district who want to move nearer to friends or family to receive support. We want to let people know that you can apply for sheltered housing if you live outside the district and we do accept applications from people who own their own home.”
