Runners rise to the challenge for Sport Relief

Runners set off for their Sport Relief mile
THREE hundred people donned their running shoes and set off from Salt Ayre Sports Centre on Sunday (March 21) to take part in a Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile.
People of all ages set off from the sports centre to do 1, 3 or 6 miles for Sport Relief.
The day was a massive success with friends, families and work mates joining together in friendly rivalry to rise to the challenge.
All the money raised will help transform lives here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
Thousands of people across the whole of the UK took part in over 300 Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles. For the first time, the Mile went global, with a special Mile in South Africa.
Celebrities rose to the challenge too, with David Walliams and a group of celebrity friends cycling the length of the UK from John O’Groats to Lands End, Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton kayaking the Amazon river, Christine Bleakley tackling the English Channel on waterskis, and Lawrence Dallaglio touring the Six Nations on his bike.
