Thanks for having your say on Morecambe
Lancaster City Council would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in helping to identify problems and opportunities relating to central Morecambe.
Earlier this year, school children, residents, businesses, visitors and stakeholders were invited to take part in drop in events, workshops and presentations to discuss topics such as Morecambe’s tourism role and how its town centre works, to more general issues based on how the town looks and feels.
The information gained from this process is helping us to prepare the Morecambe Area Action Plan (MAAP) which will establish a framework to help us manage development and change in central Morecambe over the next ten years.
Once all of the responses have been analysed and further work regarding issues completed, work will start early in the new year on identifying and developing plan options. Once again, key to this will be the involvement of all those people who have ideas and thoughts on the future of Morecambe.
Coun Abbott Bryning, cabinet member with responsibility for the economy, said: “Central Morecambe has been identified as a regeneration priority area and it is vital that people continue to get involved in order to help shape the plan and ensure its future success.”
If you are keen to be involved in this process and would like to be alerted to news and consultations relating to the MAAP then email us at morecambeaap@lancaster.gov.uk or call us on (01524) 582375 or 582362 to add your contact details to our database.
