Rain doesn’t stop play at Velocity Festival

Lancaster City Council is celebrating a successful Velocity Festival last weekend with a photo gallery capturing many of the events.
This celebration of sport across the district was organised by Lancaster City Council in partnership with local sports organisations to build on the excitement of the Olympic Torch relay coming through the district.
The 16 events planned for the weekend included a city centre cycle race, sailing and kayaking taster sessions, kite surfing and jet-ski demonstrations.
Unfortunately due to the wet and windy weather conditions, some of the events had to be cancelled but the cycle race and most events on Sunday still went ahead.
