Sun shines down on Festival Market Family Fun Weekend
Morecambe Festival Market was blessed with a rare window of wonderful weather this weekend (July 7 and 8) when it held its 8th annual Family Fun Weekend.
Throughout the weekend, Festival Market traders and their customers enjoyed a fun packed programme of free entertainment, competitions, give-a-ways and extra stalls.
The event was a huge success with something for everyone including entertainment provided by acoustic vocal harmony duo Danielle and Ally and singer Sam King, Punch and Judy, Tarquin Farquar and Fanny the Flamingo and balloon sculpturing.
Once again this year local dance troupes were given the opportunity to perform their routines in front of an appreciative audience and the Van Guard Dancers, Dance Design and Twinkle Toes Dancers all put on amazing shows.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue made a welcome return to amaze the crowd with rescue displays and the face painter and bouncy castle were a huge hit with the younger visitors.
The event raised £530 for local charities including Save A Pet, Home Start and Unique Kidz.
Festival Market Manager, Tracey Bruce, said: “A massive thanks goes to everyone who participated in the event for their support including traders, local businesses and customers.
“Everyone had a wonderful day and as well as providing lots of free fun, the event was able to raise funds that will be of benefit to many others too.”
