'Summer Sensations' on offer at Morecambe’s Festival Market

Morecambe’s Festival Market is set to celebrate the summer by treating its weekend visitors to a music festival atmosphere.
Summer Sensations will feature six weekends of live music from the areas top musicians.
The Paul Hayes Collection will be taking to the stage on Sunday July 29. Paul has become a local celebrity for his appearances on national television, so come along and meet him and his band.
The High Society Jazz Band will appear on Sunday August 5.
Country singer Brian Gibson will perform great music for all country and western and line dancing fans on Sunday August 12.
The Beat Offended is a talented up and coming local band and will play indie, rock and chart music on Sunday August 19.
Lancaster City Brass Band will bring their traditional blend of music with them to a family friendly performance on Sunday August 26.
The final session on Sunday September 2 has been left open to any up and coming musicians out there who want to perform in front of a friendly crowd. There are several sessions available for the ‘Open Mic’ event, so please contact Tracey Bruce at Morecambe’s Festival Market to book your slot.
All performances start at 11am.
Coun Jon Barry, Cabinet member with responsibility for markets, said: "Our Festival Market in Morecambe is not only a great place to shop at competitive prices but also to enjoy some great free events throughout the year.
"I am sure the atmosphere provided by the Summer Sensation events will be a great success."
Whatever the weather, the market is undercover with over one hundred individual stalls selling an amazing array of products and traders who offer their dedicated service you are sure to find that special item. Once you have finished shopping, relax and replenish in one of the cafes serving delicious homemade meals and cakes.
Summer Sensations has been organised by Lancaster City Council with additional funding from Morecambe Town Council.
