Become a market trader with a special offer from the Festival Market

Alan Greenhalgh - Morecambe Festival Market Trader

Alan Greenhalgh - Morecambe Festival Market Trader

Ever fancied running your own business but don’t know where to start? Are you interested in expanding your current business to a new site?

Why not take advantage of the special introductory trader rates on offer this autumn at Morecambe’s Festival Market.

This exciting opportunity awaits anyone wishing to expand or re-locate an existing business or those looking to start a new venture in a traditional, bustling and popular market. The special rental rate of £50 per month (other costs apply) for the first three months, is based on the commodities to be sold.

The Festival Market is a traditional covered market close to Morecambe Promenade offering over 100 stalls, shops and cafes. It is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays throughout the year.

The market has its own annual events calendar and benefits from the other festivals and events taking place in Morecambe.

Traders can take advantage of the support and regular visits from local people and it is a regular destination for coach trips combining shopping and sightseeing.

Commenting on the benefits of being at Festival Market, Alan Greenhalgh who has been a trader on the market since it opened in 1996, said: “The benefit of the market is that some people come to shop, others for a day out - but are impressed enough to come back and tell their friends.”

Coun Jon Barry, Cabinet member with responsibility for markets, said: "Morecambe's Festival Market presents an ideal opportunity for people to get a taste of what it's like to run their own business or expand on an existing one. As well as being popular with local people, the market also benefits from a full programme of festivals and events taking place in Morecambe."
