Your Environment

The Environmental Health Service manages the quality of the local environment through a range of inspection and enforcement activities. Areas of responsibility and management include:

Sustainable Living

Our vision is for local communities to enjoy a good quality of life, which is in harmony with the world environment, now and for generations to come.

We promote sustainable living through a number of dedicated forums relating to recycling (including a local recycling directory), food, energy, sustainable transport and wildlife.

We also manage and help support allotments on council land.

For information on planning consultation and future development of the district's built environment, please see our Forward Planning page.

Domestic and Trade Waste Recycling

For more information on recycling services, please see our main Waste and Recycling section.
