Public Information Notice: Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium location using Google and Google Maps
Google maps clearly shows the wrong location for Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium, even though the postal address is correctly stated. Unfortunately this map has been generated by a Google maps user and not by Lancaster City Council, and we have no way of editing or otherwise correcting the map details, nor is there any way to contact the map's author. Our cemeteries staff have previously contacted Google about this issue, but Google have so far failed to correct the mistake.
We recommend contacting Dignity Funerals to confirm location details.
Grounds Maintenance Standards
As part of our continued commitments to improvements in grounds maintenance, we produce and annually review our Cemeteries Grounds Maintenance Plan, a copy of this document is available on this page.
Cemeteries User & Visitor Survey
Using new powers made available to local authorities under the Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005, cemetery management are considering introducing a ban on dogs within cemeteries
We know this can be an emotive topic and that irresponsible dog owners cause problems in all the Council cemeteries but especially Morecambe & Torrisholme cemeteries.
Current local cemetery rules and regulations require dogs to be on a lead but this is widely ignored. Many dog owners are visiting the cemeteries purely to exercise their dogs.
We always welcome your views.

The Cemeteries Task Group have undertaken a detailed review of the cemeteries service over a 12 month period from June 2005. Follow the Cemeteries Task Group link for further information.
