The Heritage and Environment Day was a great success, despite the poor summer weather.
Highlights of the day were:
- Friends Group members dressed in period costume
- Entertainment by the High Society Jazz Band
- Guided heritage walk
- Chainsaw wood carving demonstration
- Junior Ranger nature workshops
- Re-dedication of Cinematograph Trade Benevolent Fund Garden of Remembrance
- Exhibits and refreshment marquee

Donations towards staging the event were gratefully received from the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund and Preston, Ireland, Bowker funeral director.
