Site Location Plans

Ordnance Survey location plans (or a similar printed standard) are required for all
applications, except for applications for Advertisement Consent.

The Site Location Plan should be to a scale of either 1:1250 or 1:2500. The site should be edged in red ink and hatched, and any other land within the applicant’s ownership should be edged in blue. The plan should illustrate the full site, all site boundaries and adjoining properties.

Hand drawn site location plans are not acceptable.

The orientation of the site should be specified via the provision of a North Arrow.

Where the site is located in an isolated part of the countryside, a further site plan at a larger scale may be necessary to indicate the precise position of the site in relation to nearby settlements or villages.

Lancaster City Council is no longer able to supply Ordnance Survey mapping directly to customers due to the cessation of the Map Returns Scheme by Ordnance Survey.  You can now purchase Site Location Plan through our mapping partner Getmapping PLC who will deliver maps in either electronic and printed form.
