What is Development Management?

The Development Management Team brings together the former Development Control and Building Control services into a single team.
Our staff are now based at Morecambe Town Hall, and we deliver the following services:
Initial planning advice and assistance is provided by the Planning Advice Team. Planning Applications are determined by our team of Planning Officers. Specialist advice on Section 106 Legal Agreements is provided by the Planning Contributions Officer.
Determining Building Regulations applications and inspection of building work to ensure it complies with the relevant regulations.
Investigation of complaints and taking formal enforcement action where planning controls have been breached.
Issuing new Tree Preservation Orders and determining applications for works to protected trees.

In Person: Documents and new applications can be delivered to the Customer Service Centres in either Lancaster or Morecambe Town Halls, where you can pay Planning and Building Control fees by cheque, credit or debit card.
Planning advice, including deciding if you need planning permission, or assistance with submitting an application is available from the Planning Advice Team in Morecambe Town Hall during office hours.
If you wish to see a Planning Officer, you will need to contact them directly to make an appointment.
