Local Planning Policy

Local planning policy documents help make up the Local Development Framework (LDF), along with the Regional Spatial Strategy for the North West. The LDF is the council’s statutory development plan. Local planning policy consists of adopted documents and documents which are work in progress. You can also view archived policies by following the links below.

Adopted documents

The documents below have been adopted and form part of Lancaster City Council's Local Development Framework. Find out more about the adopted documents.

Work in progress

We are currently working on a number of other Local Development Documents, as set out in the Local Development Scheme. Find out more about this work in progress.

Archived documents

Archived documents are policies and reports that have been replaced or are no longer relevant. This section will be added to as the website is updates and planning policy documents are replaced by newer documents.
