Draft Local Green Spaces Methodology Consultation

Lancaster City Council is currently consulting on a draft methodology, which outlines how valuable areas of green space will be identified and assed within the district.

The consultation will run from Monday 19 January to 5pm on Friday 27 February 2015. Visit the planning policy consultation web page to find out more.

Draft Supplementary Planning Documents Consultation  

Lancaster City Council is currently consulting on two new draft Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) which expand on policies within the Development Management DPD. This includes an SPD on Employment and Skills Plans and Shopfronts and Advertisement.

This consultation will run from Wednesday 14 January to 5pm on Wednesday 25 February 2015. Visit the planning policy consultation web page to find out more.

Adopted Development Management Plan and MAAP DPD

Lancaster City Council adopted the Development Management and Morecambe Area Action Plan Development Plan Documents (DPD) on Wednesday 17 December 2014. These documents now form key parts of the new Local Plan for the Lancaster District 2011-31.

Arnside and Silverdale AONB Development Plan Document

Together with South Lakeland District Council, we are preparing a dedicated Development Plan Document (DPD) for the whole of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The DPD will form part of both authorities’ Local Plans. It will identify sites for new housing and employment to meet local needs and will set out planning policies to ensure that development reflects the AONB designation.

We have published the recent Housing Needs Survey results and are now undertaking a Call for Sites.

First Neighbourhood Plan Application!

Lancaster City Council received a neighbourhood plan application from Wray Parish Council, this outlined the area that they would like to include in their plan.

The council consult on this for 8 weeks from 17 November 2014 to 12 January 2015 before making a decision. Normally the consultation period would be 6 weeks but this was extended due to the consultation taking place over the Christmas period.

Meeting Future Housing Needs Consultation Report

Lancaster City Council spoke to over 1,000 people and 554 consultation responses were received as a result of the June/July 2014 ‘how can we meet our future housing needs?’ consultation.
