Arnside and Silverdale AONB Development Plan Document
Together with South Lakeland District Council, we are preparing a dedicated Development Plan Document (DPD) for the whole of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The DPD will form part of both authorities’ Local Plans. It will identify sites for new housing and employment to meet local needs and will set out planning policies to ensure that development reflects the AONB designation.
A call for sites has taken place and we are now consulting on the site assessment methodology.
Any comments must be received by 5pm on Friday 1 May 2015, to find out more visit AONB Development Plan Document.
Nominate important local green spaces
Lancaster City Council is asking local residents to nominate areas of green and open space within the district which are most important to them.
Those spaces which prove to be demonstrably valuable or significant to an area would form part of the council’s Land Allocations document and be protected from inappropriate development.
Local Green Spaces can only be designated through the Local Plan process. It is therefore really important that you get involved in the process now and let us know about those areas which you would like to nominate.
The deadline for submitting sites for consideration is 5pm on Friday 24 April 2015. A pro-forma must be completed for each site that you would like to be considered.
Completed pro-formas and maps should be returned to Rebecca Richards (contact details at bottom of page).
