Lancaster City Council is dedicated to improving the district in which you live, work and play.
We already operate a wide range of street cleansing services including street sweepers, beat sweepers and a quick response vehicle but to improve this service further we enforce environmental legislation.
Enforcing this legislation helps us to deter anti social behaviour such as littering and fly tipping.
The penalties for these offences range from an on the spot fixed penalty notice (£80 for dropping litter) to a prison sentence (up to two years for fly tipping).

- Domestic refuse
- Trade refuse
