TERN Project

Eric Morecambe statue on the promenade
The award winning TERN Project is a collection of unique artworks situated along the promenade area in Morecambe, Lancashire.
The TERN project commenced in 1994 with development around the new Morrisons store. Funding for the first phase was from Morrisons, Lancaster City Council and Government derelict land grant. Artwork in the first phase featured the three ‘Rock Islands’ and the new Morrisons foodstore also adopted the TERN theme with bird bollards in the car park and specially designed ‘bird’ seating instore.
Since then exciting artworks have been installed along Morecambe promenade, the Stone Jetty and the area once occupied by the old railway station.
