The Storey Creative Industries Project (SCIC)

The Storey
The Storey Institute has been converted into a centre for the Creative Industries, and is now open.
The Storey Institute, built in 1891 by Thomas Storey, is one of the most recognisable buildings in the city, and holds fond memories for many generations of Lancaster's citizens who have used the centre for a range of cultural, art and educational activities. The Grade II listed building is located on the edge of the city centre, close to the railway station.
The project to renovate and convert the building to fit the needs of a 21st century community was led by Lancaster City Council's Economic Development & Tourism Service and will contribute to the revitalisation of Lancaster's conservation/ castle area, as well as creating new employment opportunities.
