The Year of Health and Wellbeing

Lancaster City Council is supporting the North West Year of Health and Wellbeing, the start of an ambitious decade-long movement to help everyone in the North West to feel good and live well.
It aims to encourage the seven million people who live in the North West to follow the five ways to wellbeing. These are:
- Connect with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours at home, work, school or in your local community.
- Be active. Discover a physical activity you enjoy and that suits your level of mobility and fitness.
- Take notice. Be aware of the world around you and what you are feeling.
- Keep learning. Learning new things will make you more confident as well as being fun.
- Give. Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.
People who live well have healthier, longer and happier lives. And the real bonus is that it takes just the smallest of changes to make a big difference.
