Parks and Promenade

We operate and maintain a number of parks, recreation grounds, playing fields and open spaces across the district. We also manage the promenade and immediate sea front area along the district's coastline.

Morecambe promenade offers stunning panoramic views across Morecambe Bay to the mountains of the Lake District.

Nearby Happy Mount Park retains a quiet and traditional park atmosphere, with ornamental gardens, a cafe, and a modern splash park for children of all ages.

Happy Mount Park

Dominating the Lancaster skyline is the distinctive Ashton Memorial, sitting in the extensive grounds of Williamson Park. The park offers woodland walks and a tropical butterfly house, amongst many other attractions.

Other parks across the district offer bowling, tennis, basketball and football facilities amongst many others (some with all-weather surfaces) as well as children's play areas.
