The Splash Park
Welcome to happy Mount Park - a traditional family park with modern facilities and attractions.
Happy Mount Park was originally created in the 1920s as a traditional urban park area. It has had a varied history with many unusual attractions including wild animals (with, believe it or not, a bear!) and a boating waterway.
Today's family-friendly attractions cater for more modern tastes, whilst carefully retaining the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity of a traditional park.
The new natural adventure play area
Natural Adventure Play Area
Based on the former mini-golf area at the rear of the park, the new 2.6 acre play area includes a woodland den making area, space for playing games, new trees and natural resources such as sand, logs and boulders.
It also features unique pieces of play equipment that can’t be found anywhere else in the country, including a five metre high swing, 34 metre long cable rider and maypole.

Green Flag Award
Pirates in the Park is an indoor play area in the café building. The area is decorated to match the pirate theme, and incorporates the Galleon Bouncy Castle, and climbing activity and soft play areas, including a separate area for toddlers. The pirate’s area is open every day of the year except Christmas Day and specialises in children’s birthday parties with catering facilities. Opening Hours: 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
The Café in the Park serves a wide range of food and drinks with the emphasis on home-made and good value produce. The café is open 7 days a week.
Splash Park at Happy Mount Park
Splash park -This interactive facility is one of the biggest in the region and provides a fun place for our local residents and many out of town visitors that Happy Mount Park attracts throughout the summer. The splash park is now closed for the season and will reopen in May 2012.
There are a number of gardens including a Japanese garden and traditional formal gardens to stroll through and enjoy.
The woodland walk appeals to the senses of smell and touch and attracts wildlife.
Signboards for birds and pondlife have been introduced and educational material will also be available to accompany these.

Seasonal Activities and Events 2012
Brass Bands in the Park - 29 April to 9 September 2012 - Sundays at 2.30pm
This summer, you can sit back and relax to the sound of a traditional brass band as the 2012 brass band season commences in Morecambe's Happy Mount Park.
A Day of Magic - 25 March 2012
Wizards, Warlocks and Fairies: a Magical Day at Happy Mount Park! Including: Fancy dress competition (any magical theme or character), Magic Show, Storytelling, Treasure Hunt, Art Workshop and Colouring Competitions.
Easter Extravaganza - 7 April 2012 - starts noon
Come and meet the Easter Bunny and join in our famous Easter Hunt! There will be lots of fun activities, including an Easter bonnet competition, Egg Painting Workshop, Easter Sports, including an Egg and Spoon race and Colouring competition.
Olde England Day - 5 May - starts 11.30am
Step back in time for a traditional English May Day celebration! There will be plenty of fun events, including: Clog and Morris Dancers, a Maypole event, Punch and Judy shows, Hobby Horse Racing, Welly Throwing, Treasure Hunt, Puppet Making Workshop, Storytelling and Birds of Prey Display.
Teddy Bears Picnic - 26 May - starts 11am
Parachute your teddy or soft toy and bring them to a special picnic! As well as teddy bear competitions, our bear themed day includes an assault course, art workshop, children entertainers and story telling.
Pirates Day - 30 June - starts noon
Ahoy all ye landlubbers and buccaneers! Pirates young and old are invited to take part in a golden casket treasure hunt, knot making workshop, fancy dress competition (pirate themed!), colouring competitions and story-telling.
All the Fun of the Fair - 14 July - starts noon
Bringing back memories of the seaside fairground stalls for your enjoyment. Roll up, roll up for the hook the duck and coconut shy. There will be a circus workshop plus an afternoon of fun with traditional children's performers.
Comic Caper Day - 11 August - starts noon
Come as your favourite cartoon or film character and enjoy some crazy fun and games! There will be a fancy dress competition, cartoon workshop, colouring competition, story-telling, treasure hunt, and children's entertainers.
Spooky Halloween Night - 31 October - from 5pm
Come and join in the spooky fun! Be prepared to be scared out of your mind! There will be fancy dress competitions, pumpkin competitions, junior disco, entertainers, Vampira and Drackula, spooky antics and lots more.
Happy Mount Park Volunteer Gardeners - newcomers welcome - every Friday at 6pm.
