Love Parks Week 2013 is 27 July - 4 August and will be filled with lots of fun activities for young people.

Attractions

Morecambe promenade offers stunning panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.

Nearby Happy Mount Park retains a quiet relaxing atmosphere, with ornamental gardens, a cafe, and a modern splash park for children of all ages.

The Ashton Memorial dominates the Lancaster skyline, sitting in the extensive grounds of Williamson Park.

Play areas and playing fields

Other parks, play areas and playing fields across the district (some with all-weather surfaces) offer bowling, tennis, basketball and football facilities and more. Follow the links in the left hand menu for more information.

Meet our Sport and Play Officers

Our Sport and Play Officers provide exciting and fun events for young people and their families within the district’s parks, open spaces and Morecambe Promenade. Our events are open to all and take place throughout the year.

Friends of Parks

Friends of Parks groups play a vital role in protecting and enhancing local parks, woodlands, play areas and green spaces in the area.

Park and grounds maintenance

We are responsible for the upkeep of parks and open spaces in the urban core, including grass cutting, litter bin emptying, play facilities and pitches, and tree pruning and felling, as well as planting and maintaining a large number of flower beds across the district.  Find out how your business can sponsor a flower bed.
