We provide and manage a wide range of sporting facilities, activities and training and development programmes across the Lancaster district.
Salt Ayre Sports Centre
Salt Ayre Sports Centre is a purpose-built and fully equipped sports and leisure centre, situated mid-way between Lancaster and Morecambe, next to the Asda superstore. Facilities include a large indoor swimming pool, main activity sports hall, fitness suite, and sauna and steam room.
Community Swimming Pools
Heysham community swimming pool
In addition to Salt Ayre swimming pool, we provide community swimming pools at Carnforth, Heysham and Hornby. All pools offer a swimming lesson programme suitable for all ages and ability levels.
Recreation Grounds and Playing Fields
We also maintain a number of recreation grounds and playing fields across the district, with facilities for bowling, tennis, football and basketball.
Leisure Development
The council's Leisure Development Team works with partners to develop sport and leisure opportunities in the district, including running playschemes and activity programmes during school holidays.
