Please note these amendments to public swimming times:
- Sunday 21 March 2010 open from 12.30pm to 3.45pm.
- Saturday 27 March 2010 closed all day, no public swimming available.
- Thursday 22nd April 2010 open 7.00am to 8.30am and 6.00pm to 8.30pm.
Admissions Policy
Children under the age of eight years MUST be accompanied at all times in the water by a responsible person of at least sixteen years of age. One responsible person may accompany up to two children under the age of eight years old in the water at all times. However, only one child may be under the age of five years.
Children's swimming ability will NOT override this policy under any circumstances.
Facilities
Salt Ayre Sports Centre features an eight-lane 33 metre main pool, which has movable floors and boom. The floors of the pool can be set at varying pool depths (up to 2 metres), to suit different activities. With a boom spanning the pool width, we can also create a standard recreational swimming facility with a main and learner pool, a 25m short-course swimming event facility, or a 33m national water polo facility.
Within the main pool hall, we also have a spa pool and waterslide, and all are available for public use and private hire throughout the year.
Assisted Access and Equipment
A pool hoist is available on request for those individuals who require some assistance getting in and out of the swimming pool. For easy access into the pool we also provide a set of gently sloping steps. There is a lift/elevator situated at the pool entrance doors to get you from ground floor level to first floor level where Reflexions, Heatwaves and Aquarius are situated. A wheelchair facility is also available from the Main Reception desk to make it easy for you to get around the centre.
