Swimming Lessons
Our swimming lesson programme follows the Amateur Swimming Association's national plan for teaching swimming - a nationally recognised programme covering all aspects of swimming from non-swimmer to competition level.
Over 1000 children and adults are involved in the programme, which operates at our community pools in Heysham, Hornby, Carnforth and at Salt Ayre Sports Centre.
Please note that children must be 5 years old or attending school in the term when they will be 5 years old to access the ASA programme.
Courses for younger children
Adult and Child Class - Available for very young children from 6 months to 4 years. Adults are in the water to provide support for their child under the direction of a qualified swimming teacher. Lots of music and games.
Foundation Class - For 4 year olds and upwards with a qualified teacher in the water with the children. This class can only be accessed by children who have attended at least one of the Adult and Child classes.
Course Length and Fees
- All courses are 8 weeks in duration.
- The fee is £4.25 per weekly lesson
