National Quality Assurance Schemes

Quality Inspected Accommodation
These days it just isn't enough for you to say that you are good. Your potential guests want reassurance that their precious holiday time and money are going to be well spent. An independent stamp of approval will give them this confidence.
Quality Assured Accommodation
In line with VisitBritain, enjoyengland and all other regional and sub-regional tourist boards, Lancaster City Council only recommend establishments that are currently active in a quality assurance scheme.
The following two organisations provide ‘Quality Assurance Schemes’ which adhere to the same common standards. Please contact them for information on the benefits, process, standards criteria and the costs involved:

Grants to join the Quality Assured Schemes
Grants provided by Lancashire County Council are available to actively encourage accommodation providers to take advantage of the marketing benefits the scheme offers by providing the following support to businesses (please contact them for information on eligibility prior to joining one of the Quality Assurance Schemes):
- Free advisory visit by a Quality in Tourism (QIT) Quality Advisor to offer advice about the NQAS ratings scheme and the accommodation business itself.
- Grants of up to 50% less VAT are available towards the one-off joining fee and the cost of the first year of participating in the national ratings scheme in which accommodation is assessed.
