Information and resources for visitors and for those in the tourism industry.

For visitors...

For visitor information, including what to see and do, and where to stay, please see our visitor websites www.visitlancaster.co.uk and www.visitmorecambe.co.uk .

Alternatively please contact our friendly and award-winning Visitor Information Centres in Lancaster and Morecambe for help with all your travel needs - information about where to stay, what's on, what to see and do, and how to get there! Our friendly and experienced colleagues will be happy to help you plan your visit, including booking your accommodation for you.

For the tourism industry...

Our aim at Lancaster City Council is to promote the district's ‘City, Coast and Countryside’.

The visitor economy is worth over £260 million to our district, supporting over 4,500 jobs, with more than 4.6 million visits a year to our main visitor destinations of Morecambe, Lancaster and the rural areas. The industry also plays a key role in economic development and regeneration.

Our strategic objectives are to develop the local tourism product, actively market the district, provide high quality visitor services and integrate local destination management to improve the visitor experience.

These dedicated industry pages (see menu on left) provide details on how we can help you develop and promote your business. We also have information on industry news, research, current strategies and useful contacts.
