Commercial Waste and Recycling
We provide a commercial waste and recycling collection service within the district. Commercial waste is subject to specific disposal requirements for which a charge applies.

Purchasing trade waste and recycling sacks and labels
Trade sacks and labels are available in multiples of 50 for smaller businesses or those with limited space. They can be purchased at:
• Visitor Information Centres at Lancaster and Morecambe (cash, cheque or credit/debit card)
• Environmental Services Depot at White Lund (cheque or credit/debit card)
• Customer Service Centres at Lancaster and Morecambe town halls (cheque or credit/debit card)
• Alternatively you can place an order for delivery by using the telephone numbers below. A delivery charge applies for orders of 50 of either type. For orders of more than 50 there is no delivery charge.

Our trade waste recycling service
We offer a comprehensive, reliable recycling collection service within the district.
In the Lancaster and Morecambe area and certain rural locations we offer a mixed recycling service which includes cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic film and bags, bubble wrap, waste paper, newspaper, magazines, books with covers removed, tins and cans.
We also offer in Lancaster but outside the pedestrianised area the collection of glass bottles and jars from Eurobin containers. Office waste paper collection is available to all areas and we intend to introduce a food waste recycling service in the near future.
Cardboard
Recycling labels should be attached to a cardboard box with flat packed cardboard inside. They should be no heavier than 9kg.
Cages that are owned by business (not provided by the council) should be flat packed with cardboard.
All cardboard must be free of contaminants.
A full range of Eurobin containers can be offered from 360 litres to 1280 litres.
Plastic bottles, film, bags and bubble wrap / tins and cans / office waste paper / cardboard
Clear recycling sacks are available for mixed recycling items. These include plastic bottles (no straws) film / bags and bubble wrap / tins and cans / office waste paper / magazines / newspaper / books with covers removed and cardboard.
A full range of Eurobin containers can also be offered from 360 litres to 1280 litres. These should be filled with mixed recycling items. It is important that plastic bottles, tins and cans are rinsed and empty.
Plastic film / bags / bubble wrap
Recycling labels can be attached to plastic film, plastic bags and bubble wrap which have been squashed and bundled. These should be a manageable size for one person to carry.
Office waste paper
Green recycling waste paper sacks are available for the collection of white and brown envelopes (remove sticky labels), office paper, computer paper, newspaper / magazines and books with covers removed. Please do not include carbon paper or any form of plastic covering. It is important that the sacks are always securely tied and are no heavier than 9kg.
Glass bottles and jars
We can offer a full range of Eurobin containers from 360 litre up to 1100 litre. They can be filled with glass bottles and jars. Please ensure lids and straws are removed and that the bottles and jars are rinsed / empty
This service is currently only available in Lancaster outside the pedestrianised area.
