Alongside the Household Waste and Recycling Centres operated by Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council operates a bring-site at Bull Beck Picnic Site in Brookhouse, Lancaster for you to bring small items of household recycling.

Please separate your loose recycling into the containers provided to avoid contamination and do not leave any items on the floor or on top of bins to avoid fly-tipping. 

Here you can recycle:

• mixed paper and card
• plastic, tins, glass, cartons, Tetra Pak
• food waste
• mixed textiles and clothes (no cushions, duvets, pillows, plastic bags, shoes)
• small electricals, such as cables, fairy lights, gadgets or phones (no batteries)

We cannot accept the following items:

• Cardboard or paper that is dirty, wet or greasy
• Bubble wrap
• Crisp packets
• Food waste
• Garden waste
• Hard plastic items (such as toys, CD cases, coat hangers)
• Heavy metals (such as gas containers, paint tins and utensils)
• Nappies
• Plastic film, wrapping or food bags and cling film 
• Polystyrene
• Refuse
• Thick glass (such as heavy candle holders, drinking glasses, pyrex, mirrors or windows)
• Wallpaper
