Monday 21st September

Mindfulness Monday

We will be hosting some free sessions on the 'Benefits of Mindfulness' hosted by Jill Brayshaw.

It can be easy to rush through life without stopping to notice much. Paying more attention to the present moment – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you – can improve your mental wellbeing. Mindfulness means knowing directly what is going on inside and outside ourselves, moment by momentAn important part of mindfulness is reconnecting with our bodies and the sensations they experience and allows us to become more aware of the stream of thoughts and feelings that we experience.Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better.Mindfulness is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as a way to manage anxiety and depression and can help us deal with issues more productively by not dwelling on the past or the future.

Sessions will last for 45 minutes and take place in The Hub, Pre-booking is essential as places are limited.

Tuesday 22nd September

Wear Red to Win! 

Wear red to your classes, workouts and appointments at Salt Ayre today and be entered into a free prize draw to win a super gorgeous pamper hamper from Tranquil Spa & Beauty, full of goodies for him and her from leading brands such as Elemis, Ishga and Jessica. Red is the colour adopted by the Great British Week of Sport to empower people to exercise. 

 

Wednesday 23rd September

National Fitness Day - Challenge the Gym Team

To mark this year's National Fitness Day (which so conveniently falls within the Great British Week of Sport), the guys and gals from the gym team will be challenging you to a variety of challenges throughout the day. Keep an eye out for the team in centre and on our social media channels to take part.

 

Thursday 24th September

#BeActive in Schools 

Some of our friendly team will be heading out into the community and delivering fun exercise sessions with children in some of our local schools. The Great British Week of Sport aims to encourage and inspire people from all age groups to #BeActive and take part in regular exercise as a way of improving health and wellbeing.  

 

Friday 25th September  

Dance for Donations!

During our Zumba classes on this day we will be raising money for DanceAid, an organisation which aims to make a difference to orphaned, poor and disabled children across the UK, Africa, and Asia. We will also be broadcasting live from one of our sessions on Fecabook so you can get involved at home! 

If that wasn't enough, anyone who attends any of our dance-based classes during the week - Zumba, Sh'Bam or BodyJam - will be entered into a free prize draw to win a hamper full of fitness goodies!
