Food waste golden tickets
To celebrate the launch of food waste recycling collections we're randomly allocating 15 golden tickets to properties in the district that correspond with exciting prizes.
All you need to do is look inside your kitchen caddy when it is delivered in February or March 2026 to see if you have won and follow the instructions on the ticket.
The golden tickets have been allocated to the following prizes:
- £200 Love2shop voucher
- £100 Love2shop voucher
- £50 Love2shop voucher (two prizes)
- £20 Love2shop voucher (five prizes)
- 5 Day Gym Guest Pass for Salt Ayre Leisure Centre (three prizes)
- 3 Day Gym Guest Pass for Salt Ayre Leisure Centre (three prizes)
The Love2shop vouchers can be used both online and in-store at a wide range of retailers and attractions.
What to do if you have found a golden ticket
If you find a golden ticket, email wastechanges@lancaster.gov.uk or call customer services on 01524 582491 to claim your prize, quoting the unique reference number.
If a prize is not claimed before the deadline on 30 April 2026, we will use it for another competition.
Golden ticket terms and conditions
1. This incentive is open to all residents who receive a food waste caddy as part of Lancaster City Council's (The Promoter) rollout for new food waste collections. A total of 15 prizes is available.
2. No purchase is necessary to claim a prize.
3. A winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process.
4. The prize draw will be promoted on our website, resident’s newsletter, and on our social media channels.
5. No exchanges or cash alternatives are available.
6. This prize incentive is open to all Lancaster City Council residents aged 16 years or over.
7. Employees of Lancaster City Council, their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion are excluded from entering the prize draw.
8. Entries must be claimed by 30 April 2026. If the prize is not claimed by the deadline, it will be forfeited.
9. To claim the selected prize, winners of the golden ticket are asked to email wastechanges@lancaster.gov.uk or customer services on 01524 582491, quoting the unique code on the ticket to claim a prize. This instruction is printed on the ticket.
10. To obtain details of the winners please email wastechanges@lancaster.gov.uk stating the name of the competition in the subject heading within 4 weeks after the closing dates.
11. By entering the competition all entrants consent to the use of their personal data (name and address) by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of the draw and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented.
12. The winners may be requested to take part in reasonable post event publicity and to the use of their names and photographs in such publicity.
13. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant whose entry does not comply with these terms and conditions in the Promoter's sole opinion. Or any entrant who, in the Promoter's sole determination, has acted in a manner that is fraudulent, dishonest or unjust to other entrants including, without limitation, tampering with the operation of the prize draw, hacking, deceiving, cheating or by harassing or threatening other entrants or a representative of the Promoter.
14. Lancaster City Council's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding ticket allocation.
15. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
16. Lancaster City Council has the right to withdraw this competition at any time.
17. The Promoter is Lancaster City Council.
