Whole Lotta Led pay tribute to Led Zeppelin and will be performing their Zep lV show. The first set will be a mixture of Zep classics and more .The second set will be the whole of Led Zeppelin IV album played in the same order as the original and the concert finishes with a mighty encore of more of Zep Classics. It’s been many years now since Zeppelin split up, tributes keep the music alive but when Whole Lotta Led recreate a Zeppelin concert they keep the music fresh. Uniquely for a tribute band they don’t have the pretence of trying to look like former members of Zeppelin, their integrity and musicianship comes through in the passion for the music they play. Jimmy Page met them and gave his blessing to what they are achieving. Come and see them live and you’ll realise why.

PETER DONEGAN & THE LONNIE DONEGAN BAND
Peter Donegan is the son of the late, great Lonnie Donegan. He has inherited his father`s charm and ability to deliver a fantastic live show. He plays acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica and piano as well as taking over as `front man` with the Lonnie Donegan Band. Peter`s voice is likened to his father`s on songs such as `Rock Island Line`, `Putting on the Style`, `Pick a Bale of Cotton` to name but a few, but equally Peter settles well into the country rock and blues numbers which form a big part of the show.

TOM HINGLEY AND THE LOVERS + Support
The Lovers is the brainchild of Tom Hingley, former lead singer of The Inspiral Carpets, a band that along with the Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses defined everything that was good about the UK music scene at the beginning of the 1990s. Despite of, or because of, over 20 Top 40 hits, seven Top of the Pops appearances, a rock solid fan base and successful tours all over the world, the Inspirals ran out of steam in 1995. However, a chance meeting with Steve Hanley former bassist of the Fall, led to the two realising that they still wanted to make, perform and record great music. They gathered together a band of fellow travellers who now include Steve’s kid brother and former Fall drummer, Paul Hanley, keyboardist and synth player Kelly Wood and ex-This Gigantic World guitar maestro Jason Brown. The result is a group of experienced musicians who play top quality material in their own style – the sound is raw, acerbic, funny, worldly wise and in-your-face memorable.

WILKO JOHNSON
When rock `n roll was shaken from its pre-punk complacency by the emergence of Dr Feelgood, it was guitarist Wilko Johnson who excited most attention – not only for the startling violence of his stage performance but also for his guitar style which combined the roles of lead and rhythm guitar in driving riffs and a stuttering machine gun frenzy. As a songwriter too, from the early Feelgood favourites such as ‘Back in the Night’ to the power and poetry of ‘Dupree’ and ‘Sneaking Suspicion’, Wilko has proved himself one of the best and most original exponents of R`n B this side of the Atlantic. Following his departure from Dr Feelgood, he worked with his own band and also joined Ian Dury’s brilliant Blockheads, co-writing several songs with Ian and featuring on the ‘Laughter’ album. Wilko will be joined by Norman Watt-Roy on bass and Dylan Howe on drums, both of whom have also been in the Blockheads.
With support from Peoples Republic of Mercia, a 4 piece r'n b band from Birmingham.

ALEXEI SAYLE
Part of Lancaster Literature Festival
Alexei Sayle was born in Liverpool on the day egg rationing came to an end. He always knew his parents were different. They ate salad, read the ‘Soviet Weekly’ and attended union conferences. Determined to see Communism in action, they went to Czechoslavakia where they visited the sites of massacres, rode in space age limousines and sat in the audiences of bizarre mime shows. Alexei will perform excerpts from his new book ‘Stalin Ate My Homework’, an hilarious memoir of his confusing life as the son of Communist parents, his childhood in Eastern Europe and his years as a teenage Maoist. ‘Stalin Ate My Homework’ is a funny and perceptive portrait of a family, a city, a country and a continent going through enormous changes. Alexei will also answer questions from the audience about anything from his dazzling show business career to easy stubborn stain removal.
‘A national treasure…a comic delight…if you saw off screen Alexei on your travels you`d cross the road – not to avoid him but to cuddle him’  Evening Standard
