Report a missed collection
Please manage your household waste correctly
- To guarantee a collection, your wheelie bins/boxes should be at the kerbside (or collection point) by 7am on your collection day
- Our crews are using technology which enables them to make a record of bins which haven’t been left out for collection as well as those which contain items that shouldn’t be there
- Please note that we no longer accept recycling side waste
Which bin has not been collected?
Your grey/grey-lidded landfill wheelie bin will not be collected if:
- It is not at the kerbside (or collection point) before 7am on your collection day.
- It contains something that it shouldn’t
- It is too heavy to be lifted safely by the wagon. If your wheelie bin contains the few household items that cannot be recycled, it should not be too heavy.
- Placing rubble or soil in your wheelie bin will mean it won’t be collected - remove it before your next collection day

Your recycling containers will not be collected if:
- They are not at the kerbside (or collection point) before 7am on your collection day.
- It contains something that it shouldn’t or been badly sorted

Extra recycling waste (side waste)
- Separate as instructed and placed in a container or clear plastic bag (not black bin bags) at the side of your recycling boxes
- Glass should be placed in the boxes provided
- Glass placed in bags will not be taken
Your external food waste bin will not be collected if:
- It is not at the front of your property by the kerbside before 7am on your collection day. Please note that even if your other containers are collected from the rear, your food waste will be collected from the front.
- It contains something that it shouldn’t.
Your garden waste wheelie bin will not be collected if:
- You have not subscribed to the garden waste collection service.
- It is not at the kerbside (or collection point) before 7am on your collection day.
The collection crew makes a record of all bins not presented for collection and will not return until your next scheduled collection.
Additional green waste (side waste)
- We do not collect any garden waste other than what is in the bin
Before reporting a missed bin
If any of the above reasons for non-collection apply to you
We will not return to any missed bins before the next scheduled collection day and bins should be returned to properties until then.
If none of the above reasons for non-collection apply to you and before you report it as a missed collection
We apologise if we have been unable to collect your waste or recycling. The reason may be due to a vehicle breakdown, blocked roads or severe weather. In these cases, we will endeavour to return to your property as soon as possible.
If by 6pm we have not collected your waste, you should report it as a missed bin, and we will aim to return for a collection within three working days. Please leave your bin/box or sack out until we collect it.
